In case you didn’t know, Team Seas is a great initiative similar to Team Trees where they make a massive fundraiser to raise 30 million dollars to remove 30 million pounds of marine debris from the ocean by 2022. So, what is Team Seas? Team Seas was started on October 29th by the YouTubers Mr. Beast and Mark Rober. It was a follow up to Team Trees, where they raised 20 million dollars to plant 20 million trees. Right now, Team Seas is using social media to advertise their campaign. There has been a combined 1 billion view count on all the Team Seas videos. They will be removing the trash from the seas using multiple robots. These robots will go up and down the most polluted seas and slowly filter out plastics and other trash.

Team Seas is doing much more than just removing trash, however. They are indirectly spreading awareness about the consequences of humans’ actions. If we didn’t pollute the ocean, it never would have come to this. This movement will inspire many to be more conscious about their plastic usage, and hopefully people will recycle more.

I was a huge fan of Team Trees, but when it was going on I wasn’t old enough to donate. Now, I CAN!!! Please, if you can spare the money, consider donating to Team Seas. Even if 30 million pounds is not a lot considering the great Pacific garbage patch, the thought is what counts. I really think that this will make a change, and I really support the cause! The link to donate is below!!!
